How to play this build
Spam the Cleaver (Q), which on AP pokes hard at range and sustains you with your regen. With Rylai + Liandry each cleaver slows and burns, and your ult makes you nearly unkillable in drawn-out fights.

The ultimate (R) is always leveled at 6, 11 and 16.

- Why this order
- Cleaver (Q) for ranged AP poke; Burning Agony (W) second for sustained magic damage. Instead of maxing E like a tank, you prioritize Q.

Liandry's Torment AP and pen; your spells burn % health over time (double vs. CC'd targets). -
Rylai's Crystal Scepter AP and health; your spells slow enemies (helps land everything). -
Rabadon's Deathcap The biggest AP item in the game: multiplies your total AP. -
Sorcerer's Shoes Boots with magic penetration. -
Void Staff AP and % magic penetration; a must vs. enemies stacking MR.
Masteries: how they work
In Season 3 you have up to 30 points (at level 30) to split across three trees: Offense (damage), Defense (durability) and Utility (mana, cooldown reduction and mobility). The notation 21/0/9 means 21 points in Offense, 0 in Defense and 9 in Utility.
