Burst Mid Graves

How to play this build

Land Buckshot (Q) point-blank to shred the enemy mage, use Smoke Screen (W) to blind and Quickdraw (E) to reposition. With Cleaver + Youmuu you get assassin burst while keeping your passive's tankiness.

Strengths

  • Buckshot (Q) at point-blank breaks the enemy mage: huge burst if all three pellets connect up close.
  • The Black Cleaver + Youmuu give assassin burst with the speed to stick.
  • The passive grants armor while fighting: you win almost every lane trade.
  • Quickdraw (E) gives a dash and attack speed for repositioning.

Weaknesses

  • Max burst requires point-blank range: it exposes you.
  • Without Buckshot up, your damage drops noticeably.
  • As an AD mid, you struggle against ranged mages who kite you.
  • Relies on hitting the pellet angle.

Key combos

  • Quickdraw (E) to close → Buckshot (Q) at point-blank for the burst → Collateral Damage (R) to finish or engage; Smoke Screen (W) to deny vision.

Matchups

You beat

  • Squishy mages who fold to your point-blank burst.
  • Escapeless enemies you reach with the dash.

Trouble vs

  • Long-range mages who poke you before you close.
  • CC that locks you while they chip you down.

Game plan

In lane, use the armor passive and point-blank Buckshot to win trades. Look for flanks: enter with the dash, land Buckshot up close and use Collateral Damage to finish. Smoke Screen helps you disengage or blind the enemy. Pick your commits carefully since you're fragile to enemy burst.

Quick tips

  • Land Buckshot as close as possible: all three pellets together do double the damage.
  • Use Smoke Screen to blind the enemy or cut off a chase.

Runes

In classic LoL, runes were a system SEPARATE from masteries: bought with IP (Influence Points) and slotted into 4 tiers — Marks (red), Seals (yellow), Glyphs (blue) and Quintessences (purple, the strongest). They gave flat stats: damage, armor, penetration, etc.

Marks (red) Armor penetration ×9
Seals (yellow) Armor ×9
Glyphs (blue) Magic resist per level ×9
Quintessences (purple) Attack damage ×3

AD marks, armor, AD quints

Masteries: how they work

In classic LoL you have up to 30 points (at level 30) to split across three trees: Offense (damage), Defense (durability) and Utility (mana, cooldown reduction and mobility). The notation 21/0/9 means 21 points in Offense, 0 in Defense and 9 in Utility.

Masteries
21/9/0 — Offense
Why this page
21/9/0 gives burst with some durability to brawl up close in mid.
